Norco is a Canadian bicycle manufacturer with over 50 years of experience building all types of bikes from road and hybrid to MTB and BMX. Based in Port Coquitlam, BC, Norco began life in 1964 when Bert Lewis began building bicycles in a rural, converted chicken coop. The brand now sells over 130 different bikes to cyclists in 25 countries worldwide.
The brand was one of the first companies to popularise BMX biking back in the ’70s, with the Norco Factory BMX Team eventually winning three consecutive Canadian National Titles in the ’80s.
In the ’90s, Norco began building mountain bikes to meet the growing needs of this emerging market, releasing Canada’s first full-suspension MTB in 1994.
The expansive and diverse terrain that the Canadian landscape offers makes the perfect testing ground for Norco’s engineers. This advantage has helped several Norco bikes to win awards, including 2005 Bike of the Year for the Norco VPS Six and a 2015 Design and Innovation Award for the Norco Sight.
Over the past two decades, the brand has developed several groundbreaking technologies, particularly in the area of MTB suspension. Norco’s Advanced Ride Technology (ART) suspension system was introduced in 2011 as an upgrade to it’s already popular Horst link system. In its carbon road bike range, Norco uses several lightweight frame strengthening technologies like SmoothCore and ArmorLite resin.

Norco Mountain Bikes
Norco focuses mainly on mountain bikes, with its popular Aurum downhill bikes and Range Enduro bikes available in several models, including carbon frames. The all-Mountain range features aluminum and carbon versions of Norco’s award-winning Sight full-suspension bike and the more affordable Torrent hardtail.
Trail bikes consist of the Fluid in both full-suspension or hardtail models, plus the more high-quality Optic. The Revolver is a professional XC bike and the Storm and Charger cover the Cross Country offerings.
Downhill Bikes
Norco Aurum
HSP 1 / HSP 2 / HSP framekit / HSP C1 / HSP C2 / A1 / A framekit / A7 / C7
Aurum is one of Norco’s flagship MTBs, built exclusively for the professional downhill racing scene. It comes in varying carbon and aluminum builds, with or without HSP technology and with 27.5 or 29″ tires. The leading HSP C1 model features Gravity Tune geometry, top-of-the-range RockShox suspension, and an SRAM X01 DH drivetrain. Wheels consist of DT Swiss rims and Maxxis Assegai tires.
The Aurum HSP builds feature High Single Pivot frame technology which uses precision kinematics and a chain idler wheel to improve the suspension. On the lower range Aurum A1 you get SRAM Zee and GX gear components with WTB rims and Schwalbe Magic Mary tires.
Enduro Bikes
Norco Range
C1 / C3 / Carbon frame kit
A1 / A2 / A (Aluminum) frame kit
The Range C1 is Nocro’s leading full carbon enduro bike, kitted out with a RockShox Lyric 180mm fork and Super Deluxe Coil Select+ 160mm rear suspension (-10mm on the 29″ model). It’s designed to take on the descents at speed while providing strong and efficient climbing power so that you can tackle any terrain.
Norco has gone with a 12-speed SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain on the Range C1, which is not top shelf but certainly does the job. On the wheels, you’ll find e*thirteen LG1 rims with super grippy Maxxis Assegai 2.5″ tires and SRAM Code R hydro disc brakes. On the more affordable aluminum Range A2, you get a RockShox Yari fork, SRAM SX Eagle gears with Shimano hydro brakes, and WTB rims.
All-Mountain Bikes
Norco Sight
A1 / A2 / A3
C1 / C2 / C3
You won’t find many places that aren’t accessible on Norco’s full-carbon Sight C3 all-mountain bike. Both strong enough to tackle the roughest of descents while light enough to climb steep mountain passes, the Sight C3 is the full package.
Norco’s Ride Aligned technology ensures perfect gravitational balance while RockShox Super Deluxe suspension and Lyrik fork swallow up any bumps and obstacles. For a groupset in this price range, I would have expected something a bit better than Shimano Deore but it has a wide range and will do the job.
On the wheels, you get Stans Flow D rims and a nice mix of a Maxxis Assegai 2.5″ front tire and 2.4″ Dissector rear tire.
The Sight range of bikes come in carbon and aluminum builds and feature Norco’s proprietary Ride Aligned technology which alters the way a riders gravity affects the bike. Add a dropper seat post and full-suspension and you have the perfect all-mountain exploration machine.2
The aluminum Sight A1 29″ has a top-quality RockShox Lyrik Ultimate 160mm fork and 150mm Super Deluxe rear suspension with Debonair 2 tech. SRAM’s popular GX Eagle drivetrain and Code RSC hydro disc brakes sort out the groupset, with DT Swiss rims and Maxxis tires on the wheels. Finished off with a Fizik saddle, One Up dropper post, and Diety Ridgeline handlebars, this is a truly impressive full package.
Norco Torrent
HT S1 / HT S2 / HT S Frame
In a rare move away from alloy and carbon, the all-mountain Torrent HT S2 combines a traditional Chromoly steel frame with modern tech to provide an aggressive hardtail bike. The frame geometry encompasses Norco’s Gravity Tune technology, with a slacker head tube and steep seat tube angle to distribute weight forward and provide better climbing traction and grip on descents. You even get an X-fusion Manic dropper post for those seriously steep downhills.
The groupset is decent enough, with a 12-speed SRAM SX drivetrain and TRP G-Spec disc brakes. A 150mm RockShox 35G fork provides front suspension, while top-quality e*thirteen rims and Maxxis Assegai 29″ tires sort out the wheels. Overall, it’s an impressive hardtail bike for the price and will certainly appeal to steel enthusiasts.
Trail Bikes
Norco Optic
C AXS / C 1 / C 2 / C 3 / Carbon frame – Men’s & Women’s
The lightweight yet durable Optic C1 is Norco’s leading trail bike, kitted out with ground-flattening Fox Float DPS Factory suspension and a 130mm Fox 34 front fork. It has a mostly carbon frame with an aluminum chainstay and link arm and relaxed geometry that provides all-day comfort over any terrain.
SRAM’s excellent GX Eagle sorts out the drivetrain, supported by Guide RS hydro disc brakes and Maxxis Forekaster 2.35″ tires. There are also some quality finishings from popular MTB components maker Race Face, including the rims, handlebar, and stem. The perfect bike for long days tackling dirt, singletrack, gravel, or mountains.
Norco Fluid
HT 1 / HT 2 / HT3 / HT 4
All Fluid builds come with WTB rims and either Maxxis Forkaster or Goodyear Escape tires. The Fluid range offers a great selection of trail bikes covering all budgets. Fluid represents Norco’s more affordable trail bike range, with both full suspension and hardtail models. At under $1,000, the entry-level Fluid HT 4 offers excellent value for money. It features a Shimano Deore drivetrain with SR Suntour fork and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes.
On the mid-range Fluid FS 4, you get similar specs but with a full-suspension alloy frame that has 120mm of rear travel. Moving up to the Fluid FS 1, you get a similar frame with RockShox Deluxe rear suspension, 130mm RockShox Revelation fork with an SRAM NX Eagle groupset

Norco Storm
Norco’s Storm 1 is an affordable, aluminum cross-country bike with a comfortable, upright sitting position. It has all the bells and whistles of a quality mountain bike without the high price tag. Stand-out features include Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, Alex DP21 rims, and Maxxis Rekon 2.25″ tires.
On the drivetrain, there’s a decent 11-speed Shimano Deore 1x setup and you even get a TranzX dropper seat post; something usually only found on pricier MTBs. The alloy frame and Suntour XCM fork do make the bike a bit heavier than some more competitive models but it still offers excellent value for money.

Norco Rampage
Rampage 2 ‘2020 MSRP $1,099
Rampage is Norco’s dirt jump bike range, and the aluminum 26″ Rampage 2 is one of its more popular and affordable builds. It’s a bit heavier than some of the pro team builds but has a tough and durable frame that can handle the rigors of dirt jumping. The single-speed drivetrain has a 14T threaded freewheel cassette running off a 3pc direct mount 30T Samox crank.
Upfront you’ll find an RST Dirt suspension fork with 100m of travel, which offers a decent mix of strength and affordability. Tektro provides its MD-280 mechanical disc brakes to complement the well-treaded Kenda K-rad 2.3″ tires. All-round, the Rampage 2 is a decent little dirt bike for having fun in the park.

Norco Search
Gravel bikes have been taking center stage lately in the global road cycling scene. Their speed, versatility, and excitement mean they appeal to road racers, bikepackers, and MTB enthusiasts alike. Steel, in particular, has been finding increased popularity amongst the gravel bike scene and this offering from Norco is no exception.
With its air-hardened, back-tempered Reynolds Chromoly frame and carbon fork dotted with mount points for racks and bottle cages, the Search XR S1 is ready for adventure. The ultra-wide, 22-speed Shimano GRX groupset provides enough gears for both flat-out speed and slow, steep ascents. Finished off with lightweight WTB rims and 700x42c tubeless-ready tires and there are few places this bike can’t go. It even includes a dropper seat post for those steep downhills!
