Essentially these products are like balance motor bikes for kids. A Stacyc product acts as an alternative to balance bikes for kids, widely recognized as the best way to teach your kid to ride a bike.

The 12eDRIVE toddler electric bike by Stacyc is a fun learning tool for any parents wanting to provide their child with a fantastic gift.

This Stacyc balance bike is for children aged 3 to 5 or, more importantly, with an inseam of between 14″ and 20″. It uses a 20V motor with a 2Ah battery that provides between 30 and 60 minutes of riding time.

We feel this riding time is too short and may deter parents from taking the bike away from the home if it will only last a maximum of 60 minutes before needing another charge.

In addition, there are four settings and three different powers/speeds to choose from, which you can increase progressively while their skills develop.

Kids learn to balance, use the brakes, and other skills like handling and cornering. The bike itself is made with a light aluminum frame with 12″ composite wheels and pneumatic tires. The 12eDRIVE charges entirely in 30 to 60 minutes and weighs just 17lbs.

When compared to the other main competitor, Thumpstar, the 12eDrive is lacking in battery size and functionality. The Thumpstar 12″ model has a 5.2Ah battery with twice the expected run time as well as a speed limiter that offers three extra modes. All this, and it is $69 cheaper.

Electric bikes for 6-year-olds are not easy to come by. However, Stacyc’s 16eDrive is designed for 5 to 7-year-olds or those with inseams that measure between 18″ and 24″.

Because this model is for older children, it has a more powerful motor, a larger battery, and higher max speeds. This Stacyc electric balance bike has a 4Ah battery (twice the size of the 12eDrive, which will last up to 60 minutes at speeds between 5 and 13mph.

The 16eDrive is built with a lightweight aluminum frame, meaning the bike weighs 20lbs in total. On this electric stability bicycle are 16″ composite wheels with pneumatic tires. This version is perfect for any older kid who is starting to learn how to ride a bike.

Like with the 12eDrive, Thumpstar offers a 16″ model for $50 cheaper, with a larger battery and more speed choices. However, the gap between the two 16″ balance bikes is smaller than the 12″ ones, as the 16eDrive has a 4Ah battery.
